NURHC 2009
Set in tropical northern Queensland, NURHC focused on attracting and retaining students and newly graduated health and medical professionals to practice in rural and remote Australia. It gave students the opportunity to discuss the skills and support they deem necessary to become outstanding rural and remote health professionals. Each of the 29 Rural Health Clubs were represented at NURHC, as well as MRBS and BMP students sponsored by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), RHC Administrators, Alumni Members, Rural Workforce Agencies and many of our important stakeholders from Allied Health, Nursing and Medical. ProgramThe final version of the conference program is available here. MediaMany members were interviewed by local and interstate radio stations, as well as newspaper articles. A list of media publications from NURHC can be found at Media. Delegate ExperiencesChris Bentley, Teena Downton, Emma Harvey, Sean Sweeney-Knapp, Simon Reid and Agatha Williams from SHARP have written reports outlining their experiences and attendance at NURHC - if you weren't able to attend but want to find out what you missed on, or if you did attend and want to read what other students thought of the conference it's well worth reading.
