SHARP Bushdance 2009

The most stylish club at the University of Wollongong, the Student Health Alliance for Rural Populations (SHARP) held our 3rd Annual Bush Dance at the UOW Unibar on Friday 27 March 2009.  The dance provided our students an opportunity to conclude Diversity Week in boot-scootin style!

Dressed to the nines in flannos, ripped jeans, singlets, overalls, cowboy hats and boots, over 130 people converged on the Unibar for SHARP's first major event of 2009.  SHARP members, UOW staff and friends got together for a great night of networking and socialising, before hitting the dance floor with some massive bush-dancing moves.  Dosie-do and heel and toe took centre stage as the SHARPies burned up the floor to the rural tunes of the Wongawilli Bush Band.

Many SHARPies even walked away with prizes for best dressed, best hat, best on the dance floor and more!  Our most successful bush dance yet, the event also raised awareness of SHARP and rural health among the campus community, and we look forward to putting on more exciting vents this year.
