WARRIAHS

WARRIAHS or Wagga Area Rural Remote Indigenous Allied Health Services is the Rural Health Club of Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga (NSW) uniting undergraduate health professionals across all disciplines. The club has set a new record with over 250 members, from a variety of different disciplines including pharmacy, biomedical sciences, dietetics, social work, nursing, radiography, nuclear medicine, and medical sciences.

CSU in Wagga is the ideal place for a Rural Health Club, with most members experiencing rural placements at some point during their degree.  Wagga itself being a rural community, members have first hand experience in dealing with many of the pressures and issues faced by rural health practitioners.

WARRIAHS runs a number of activities throughout the year, both social and educational. We run workshops and speaker nights, rural oriented activities, attend conferences and hold dinners and social functions. In addition, we visit rural High Schools to promote the benefits of pursuing a health care career in the country, building the groundwork for future university students.

Some of our activities include:
Cadaver Trips
BBQ’s and Other Social Functions
Fundraisers and Guest Speaker Nights
Health Expo and Rural High School Visits
Rural Health Conferences
NSW Combined Health Club Activities
Commencement and End Of Year Dinners
Mid-Year Ball
Trivia night
Paintball

Due to Government funding, we have the opportunity to provide our members with additional benefits including:
- Rural Scholarships and Financial Assistance for Rural Placements
- Opportunities to Attend National Conferences and Events
- Access to Rural Health Support Networks
- Opportunities to Meet Other Students in your Field of Study

Overall, WARRIAHS is a growing club and is working hard to provide great satisfaction to all our members and involve them with rural placements and health events.
