Journal articles Rural Health Clubs Former NRHSN Secretary (2005), Dr Joseph Turner, and AURHA President, Lydia Scott, published a peer-reviewed article in Rural and Remote Health: The International Electronic Journal of Rural and Remote Health, Education, Practice and Policy. Entitled University rural health clubs: nurturing the future Australian rural workforce, the article describes the roles and activities of the NRHSN and rural health clubs in their aim to contribute to the development of a sustainable rural health workforce.
Rural Clinical Placements Dr Joseph Turner and Dr Jonathon Lane undertook a study to determine barriers faced by medical, allied health and nursing students in undertaking rural clinical placements. Early Barriers for University Rural Clinical Placements, authored by Joseph V. Turner and Johnathon Lane was published in Education for Health, Vol 19, No. 3, November 2006.
