Welcome to SHARP

The National Rural Health Student Network

The Student Health Alliance for Rural Populations (SHARP) is the Rural Health Club (RHC) of the University of Wollongong (UOW). SHARP is proud to be one of 28 RHCs nationally as part of the National Rural Health Student Network (NRHSN).

The Student Health Alliance for Rural Populations (SHARP) is the University of Wollongong’s Rural Health Club. We are a student-run club united by one common interest – rural, remote and Indigenous health. SHARP aims to promote regional and remote practice to our members through rural experience weekends, rural health conferences, regional high school workshops, cultural awareness training, numerous volunteering opportunities and social events that link you with like-minded students across the university.

One of the fantastic things about SHARP is that we are university wide club and our members come from a variety of health and science disciplines. We have over 1000 members studying in disciplines of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, Indigenous Health, Medical and Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, Public Health, and Social Work.

SHARP is also proud to be one of 28 Rural Health Clubs nationally as part of the National Rural Health Student Network (NRHSN). There are many opportunities for community engagement and travel through our events and this club is fantastic way to learn more about rural health and practice.
