ROUNDS’ annual Wagga Wagga Rural Immersion Weekend is a premier event. It provides students the opportunity to embrace a rural lifestyle through hospital homestays, as well as tour the Wagga Wagga Base, Calvary and Junee hospitals.
Students also have the chance to visit the Riverina Rural Training Hub and Notre Dame Clinical School to meet senior students and interns as well as to network and gain further insight into professional rural pathways.
The Weekend sees students traverse the Wagga Wagga landscape – exploring local eateries and attractions such as Junee Licorice Factory, Wagga Wagga Beach, Borambola Winery and dinner at Romano’s Hotel.
ROUNDS and its members have forged a strong connection with Kildare Catholic College in Wagga Wagga and seek to share knowledge and wisdom of journeys into tertiary health education. Endeavouring to inspire high school students, ROUNDS teaches the local students how to plaster, perform CPR and identify basic anatomy.
