FURHS March Events
Hey FURHS members,
Did you know we have two exciting events happening this month?
Close the Gap Day
This coming Thursday, 17th March, is Close the Gap day. FURHS in conjunction with the Health and Human Rights Group (HHRG) are hosting a free lunch with guest speakers so you can find out what you can do as a health practitioner to close the health and life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and the remaining Australian population. Come down to the Level 5 Courtyard at the FMC between 1pm-2pm to join in the conversation.
You can find out more information about Close the Gap here: https://www.oxfam.org.au/what-we-do/indigenous-australia/close-the-gap/
Wilderness Health Night
Tickets are now on sale for Wilderness Health Night on the 21st March at 5.30pm in the HSTLC. Come along for a night filled with education and networking. Hear from local snake catchers about the snakes in our state, what to do if you come across one and how to be safe. Following the presentation get your hands dirty at our clinical skills stations. Finish the night off with a burger from Burger Theory washed down with a drink. Tickets are $10 and limited so buy yours now!
