Let the celebrations begin!

The NRHSN along with our 28 Rural Health Clubs, parliamentarians and stakeholders helped celebrate our 21st Birthday on 17 March at Parliament House, Canberra.

Highlights from the celebration include:

  • The Minister for Rural Health's media statement congratulating the NRHSN's 21 years of operation promoting rural health careers and looking forward to working with us into the future as we help shape the health landscape for Australia
  • Celebrating 21 years of supporting the future rural health workforce – view the speaker and advocacy photo album and the celebratory lunch photo album
  • Highlighting rural health innovations from NRHSN Alumni members, including Former WILDFIRE Rural Health Club members, Jarrel Seah and Jennifer Tang, demonstrate their Eyenaemia phone app for the detection of anaemia
  • Attracting media coverage in the Canberra Times, the National Indigenous Times and the Northern Daily Leader
  • Development of recommendations for a future innovative rural health workforce

The NRHSN continues to advocate on your behalf, of particular note in April was the Minister for Rural Health’s Rural Health Stakeholder Roundtable on 6 April, where the NRHSN advocated for rural health training pathways for all health students.
