Would you like to attend the biggest General Practice conference of the Year for FREE?

A career in general practice offers enrichment, reward, financial security, and a chance to work across a broad scope managing a diverse range of health conditions.  Rural general practice similarly offers a great diversity of experience with further opportunity to work both within the community and across in-hospital care.

The RACGP’s annual conference GP16 offers a great chance to explore this exciting career option, offering a major learning and network opportunity which will take place in Perth from 29 Sept – 1 Oct. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is Australia’s largest professional general practice organisation with over 30,000 members. RACGP Rural promotes general practice in rural and remote Australia and has been supporting GPs working in or towards a career in rural general practice for over 20 years.

RACGP Rural would like to offer 10 local medical students (who are members of their University rural health club) the opportunity to experience the conference for free. RACGP Rural is offering a full day registration for you to experience the conference, valued at $150 per person. So why not come along to visit the exhibition, engage with passionate general practitioners and find out more about the RACGP? Information about the conference and what it can offer you is available on the conference website.

If you would like to find out more about what it means to be a rural GP, please visit the RACGP Rural booth space where they can arrange a Rural Health Career Check for you. You will have the opportunity for a 20 min conversation with an experienced rural GP about anything related to rural general practice.

To apply for the registrations, please contact RACGP at rural@racgp.org.au. Please include a few lines about your interest in rural general practice and/or what you hope to gain from attending the conference. RACGP will confirm your registration if you’re successful.

The RACGP look forward to meeting you at GP16!
